South Africa 2002 Day 13 Hermanus

Today, we were heading for Hermanus. We took the famous route 62. Heard from Gerhard that the hotel people at Hermanus spotted some whales yesterday, and if we were lucky, we may spot some ourselves. En route, we passed by the infamous Ronnie's Sex Shop. As it turns out Ronnie's is just a pub in the middle of nowhere - no sex whatsoever. We even had the honor to see Ronnie in person.

We reached our hotel in late afternon, and took a walk along the coast path along the old harbour hoping for soem whale sightings. No such luck. We ended our walk with a shopping spree in the neighbourhood.

The town reminded me of a typical English town I read in novels. As it turns out, we spent most of our time doing grocery shopping. Phoned dad to wish him a Happy Birthday
